Northern Sardinia,
the Maddalena Archipelago & Bonifacio, Corsica

Gorgeous bays, excellent food, pretty towns & a mix of cultures!

From our bases in Portisco, you will be able to set off on a sailing holiday along  the stunning Costa Smeralda, the islands of La Maddalena, Spargi, Caprera & Santa Maria in the Maddalena Achipelego and across to Bonifacio in Corsica. The sailing area is relatively compact, so you can spend as much time as you like either sailing, swimming, sunbathing and chilling in a gorgeous inlet or visiting the wonderful historic (and sometimes “Glizzy”) towns that characterize this area.

Costa Smeralda: The Emerald Coast is a millionaires paradise peppered with luxurious villas and huge mega-yachts. Although you won’t usually overnight in one of the marinas, your skipper will take you to swim ( or stay overnight if you wish) in some of the beautiful bays like Cala di Volpe where you will enjoy the crystal-clear water and rub shoulders with the rich & famous!

The Maddalena Archipelego: Set on the North-eastern tip of Sardinia, this group of islands is truly beautiful. Crystal-clear water, amazing granitic rock formations, gorgeous little bays & inlets and pretty towns characterize this area.

La Maddalena: The main town on the main island of the group, La Maddalena is a bustling town with a very pretty Old Town full of shops & boutiques, bars and excellent restaurants.

Notable among them is Cala Corsara, where the granite rock formations and the crystal-clear, turquoise water will take your breath away!

Island of Caprera: Famous for being the birthplace of Giuseppe Garibaldi, the Island of Caprera is also endowed with a wonderful coastline. It has a series of beautiful bays and inlets where the orange granite rocks plunge into the turquoise lagoons they surround! Porto Palma is an ideal bay to spend the night, while Cala Coticcio, otherwise known as Tahiti, is probably the prettiest cove in the Mediterranean!

The Old Town or Haute Ville is up on the top of the cliff and is full of character & charm while, built around the Marina, the new town is full of shops , bars, restaurants and of course the famous B52 disco-bar! Bonifacio definitely has something for everyone!

Isle de Lavezzi: On the way back to Sardinia, weather-permitting, your skipper will stop at the French  Isle de Lavezzi, famous for it’s 19th century military cemetery and  the gorgeous lagoon – Cala Lazarina.

Between one destination and another, your skipper will anchor in beautiful inlets or coves for an unforgettable swim (places that only someone with local knowledge would know) and when you reach your destination, he can recommend all the best restaurants in which you can enjoy the fantastic local cuisine.
